Our Story

About Wavefront Centre

Established in 1956, Wavefront Centre for Communication Accessibility is a B.C. based, multi-service, registered charity that exists to reduce communication barriers by providing access and inclusion for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing. The only centre of its kind in Western Canada, Wavefront Centre provides a full range of programs and services “under one roof”.

We’re Moving Forward for Better Communication.

All of us as human beings have a deep inherent need to connect with others, and access to communication is the key to remaining connected to our friends, families, and communities.

This universal need to be connected through communication is why the Wavefront Centre for Communication Accessibility was created.

About Us

The Wavefront Centre for Communication Accessibility is passionate about creating a society in which Deaf, Hard of Hearing and Hearing individuals can interact freely without barriers.

For those with hearing loss and deafness, communication becomes challenging, affecting any sphere of daily life, from work to home to school and community.  Wavefront Centre provides supportive programs and services that focus on the strengths and talents of Deaf and Hard of Hearing individuals rather than barriers.

Wavefront Centre works to create opportunities for individuals to gain employment, participate in communities, and increase social connectedness with family and friends. We also provide public education to increase awareness and understanding of Deaf and Hard of Hearing issues.
