Sue Gilpin

Director

Sue Gilpin is an experienced executive and an established human resources professional with over 20 years of innovative leadership at notable organizations, including Motion, Golf Town, and Staples Canada. Sue has been a proud member of the Motion team since 2018, transitioning to the role of CEO in May 2022, where she has positioned people as the priority by focusing on cultural transformation and employee engagement to drive business growth and client satisfaction.

As Motion’s vision is to make life accessible for everyone, Sue leads in the area of client advocacy by being actively involved in the communities Motion serves and participating in grassroots initiatives with a focus on enhancing people’s quality of life. Through her dozens of store visits each year, she also regularly meets with clients to learn from a variety of perspectives to ensure Motion’s network of more than 700 knowledgeable experts continually drive improvement and elevate the client experience.

Sue is part of the MacKay CEO Forum where she is involved in idea exchange and speaking engagements among her peers. At Motion, she introduced the Women in Leadership program and as part of this, she sponsors and mentors women to grow in reaching their goals. Sue also volunteers her time and supports Shine Foundation, a not-for-profit organization that has been changing the lives of young people in Canada living with severe physical disabilities with a Dream come true, among other organizations.

Sue completed her BBA at Wilfrid Laurier University and is a Certified Human Resources Leader through the Human Resources Professionals Association as well as a Certified Compensation Professional, Certified Benefits Professional, and Certified Global Remuneration Professional through the World at Work Professional Association.
