DeafBlind Services

Empowering DeafBlind seniors to achieve connection and better living

Our DeafBlind program is dedicated to empowering DeafBlind seniors and older adults, helping them achieve greater independence, stay connected, and engage with their communities.

We provide tailored support to ensure they can live fulfilling lives with enhanced access to the resources and services they need.

Supporting the DeafBlind community

DeafBlindness is a combination of hearing and vision loss, which can range from mild to severe and affects each individual differently. Needs vary depending on the type of deafness and blindness, communication preferences, age of onset, and lifestyle.

Without proper support, DeafBlind individuals often face social isolation, communication challenges, and limited access to information and mobility.

Wavefront Centre’s DeafBlind program provides intervenor services, connecting individuals with professionals who facilitate communication and provide environmental information about the world around them.

We also offer a variety of workshops as well as opportunities for socialization and community outings to foster connection and independence.
