Led by Wavefront Centre for Communication Accessibility and supported by The Slaight Family Foundation, Accessibility in Action is empowering communities across Canada to create inclusive spaces where everyone can communicate, participate, and belong.

The Challenge

Across the country, Deaf, DeafBlind, and Hard of Hearing individuals continue to face barriers that limit access to everyday experiences. From theatres and community centres to places of worship and public events, accessibility ensures everyone can take part fully.

When communication isn’t accessible, people are excluded, not by choice, but by design. We’re here to change that.

Our Solution

Wavefront Centre is partnering with organizations, businesses, and community venues across Canada to deliver two innovative solutions that make communication accessibility simple, effective, and life-enhancing.

Audio Accessibility for All

Clear sound means full participation. Through Bettear, an assistive listening system that uses an App on a mobile phone, streaming sound directly through Bluetooth to hearing aid and cochlear implant users devices.

Video On Demand – ASL Interpreting Where it’s needed

Our Video Remote Interpreting (VRI) service provides instant access to qualified ASL interpreters, ensuring Deaf community members can communicate with businesses and organizations in real time.
