Jo-Ann Bentley

Director, Accessibility Services

I am passionate about driving meaningful change in accessibility and inclusivity.

At Wavefront Centre, I am extremely fortunate to collaborate with a diverse group of colleagues, community members, and external partners. Working together towards a shared vision to create accessible communication solutions is empowering.

In my role, I focus on building strong relationships with businesses, industries, government agencies, and community organizations to support the integration of services, technology and education that enhance accessibility for all. By bridging the gap between public facilities and the communities they serve, I strive to help create inclusive environments where people can participate fully.

As a Child of Deaf Adults (CODA), having grown up in a bilingual and bicultural environment. My personal experience has fueled my passion for advocacy and has shaped my belief in the power of technology and cultural understanding to overcome communication barriers. While progress has been made, there is still much work to be done to create a truly inclusive society.

Outside of work, I enjoy gardening, spending time with my family and friends, and volunteering with the Humane Society.
