Wavefront Centre’s COVID-19 Updates

Update: January 6, 2022

All Wavefront Centre services now move to “essential services only” for in-person appointments and will serve clients virtually where possible. Wavefront Centre will continue to follow various Public Health Orders and guidelines and will revise them as necessary.

We continue with our regular procedures and protocols, that have kept us safe and healthy, these include:

  • Mandatory mask usage for both clients and staff
  • Increased cleaning and sanitizing of all surfaces and equipment
  • Spacing out and limiting clients in all areas
  • To ensure your visit to Wavefront Centre is as safe and relaxed as possible, we will need to ask you a few questions prior to booking your appointment:
    • Do you have fever or chills?
    • Do you have a cough, sore throat, stuffy nose, or nasal congestion?
    • Have you been in contact with a confirmed COVID case in the last 14 days?
    • Are you experiencing any shortness of breath or difficulty breathing?
    • Are you experiencing flu-like symptoms such as upset stomach, sore muscles or fatigue?
    • Have you experienced recent loss of taste or smell?

If you answer Yes to any of the above questions, we will kindly ask that we hold off on booking your appointment until you are healthy. A safe visit with us is worth the wait!

If you have travelled outside of the country recently, please follow public health guidelines to self-isolate.

If you have answered No to any of the above questions, we look forward to seeing you. Before your appointment, we will call to confirm. We are always happy to reschedule if you are not feeling well!

Wavefront Centre hours of operation, effective Monday, April 6, 2020:

Monday – Friday : 10:00 AM – 3:00 PM*

All offices are closed on Saturdays

*Willow Street & Tricities locations are closed 12PM – 1PM

All drop-in services are temporarily suspended

To ensure the safety of both our clients and staff, our Audiology and Interpreting departments will only be accepting clients by appointment, for essential services only. Community and Medical Interpreting dispatching services will continue as normal.

Wavefront Centre for Communication Accessibility wants to ensure the safety and health of our clients, many of whom are vulnerable to illness. We ask that you reschedule your appointment if you are feeling unwell.

On March 11, 2020, the World Health Organization declared the global outbreak of COVID-19 a pandemic.

To ensure the safety and health of our clients, many of whom are vulnerable to illness, we ask that you reschedule your appointment if you are feeling unwell. Upon arrival to Wavefront Centre, please ensure you practice proper respiratory hygiene etiquette and please heed the following advice:

  • If you have recently travelled outside of Canada, please follow the 14-day self-quarantine advisories listed by the Canada Border Services Agency and Health Canada.
  • Proper hand-washing for at least 20 seconds using soap and water.
  • Use of hand sanitizers if hands are not visibly soiled.
  • Do not touch your face, mouth or nose with unwashed hands
  • Cover your mouth and nose when you sneeze or cough with a disposable tissue, or the crease of your elbow.
  • Stay at home if you are feeling sick.
  • If you develop a fever, sore throat, cough or difficulty breathing, please seek medical attention promptly.

Those who develop symptoms during the 14-day monitoring period should immediately self-isolate (stay in a room that is not shared with anyone else) and call their healthcare provider or the provincial health line at 8-1-1 to discuss any need for testing and follow up.

At Wavefront Centre, we disinfect all surfaces daily and common contact points hourly. Any equipment and surfaces that do come in touch with clients are immediately disinfected after appointments.
